Frequently Asked Questions
reservations & policies
-
Yes. Here is exactly how it works at MINŌ.
At booking: The omakase counter is $195 per seat. A 20% service charge is added on top of that and is paid when you book, since reservation and full payment confirm your seat.
During your visit: Anything you add at the counter, such as a bottle of sake, an additional pairing, or beverages, also carries the 20% service charge, settled at the end of your evening.
Where it goes: The service charge goes entirely to the team caring for you that evening. It is not retained by the restaurant, and it is not a government tax.
One exception: The lounge operates separately and does not carry an automatic service charge. The 20% applies only to the omakase counter.
-
The counter asks for 48 hours notice. Inside that window, we are glad to move your reservation to another evening, though we are unable to offer refunds once it closes. Each seating is planned around the guests at the counter, so the advance notice lets us prepare the evening properly.
-
No strict code. This is Florida, after all. We simply ask that you dress for the occasion, since the evening is a special one and most guests like to mark it that way. Come polished and comfortable, and you will feel right at home.
-
Yes. Reach out through minoomakase.com and we will arrange a gift toward the counter or the lounge.
dining at MINŌ
-
No. MINŌ is open to the public. We do offer membership for our regulars and frequent guests, but it is an enhancement, not a requirement. Anyone can book the counter or walk into the lounge.
-
For the omakase counter, yes. Each seating is planned around the guests at the counter, so we ask that you reserve ahead. Cancellations do open up on occasion, so if you are hoping for a last-minute seat, contact the restaurant and we will tell you what we have.
The lounge is different. Reservations are not required, though we suggest them on weekends. You are welcome to come in and settle into the evening. -
The lounge is a full room of its own, twenty seats, open five nights a week, with its own menu of à la carte plates and an extensive sake list. It is a different way to spend an evening with us: no set progression, no fixed start time, just good food and good sake at your own pace. Many guests come for the lounge alone.
-
Reserve at minoomakase.com. The reservation button routes to our booking partner, and your seat is confirmed when you book. Omakase is $195 per person, served Wednesday through Saturday at two seatings, 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. An optional sake pairing is available for $95.
-
Plan to spend about two hours with us. The counter seats ten, and the evening unfolds course by course at the pace the chef sets, not the clock. There is no rushing it, and that is the point. You settle in, you slow down, and a few hours later you leave having been somewhere worth remembering.
-
Yes. Seats are reserved per person, so book the number you need. The counter holds ten; the lounge holds twenty. For the counter especially, book ahead for the seating you have in mind.
-
Tell us when you book. Chef JM composes each omakase by hand, and we will do our best to work around allergies and restrictions with advance notice. A set omakase makes some restrictions difficult to honor, so the earlier we know, the better we can prepare for you.
-
Yes. An optional pairing is offered with omakase for $95, selected to follow the progression of the meal. The lounge carries the full sake list on its own, by the glass and the bottle.
-
We are at 114 NE 2nd Street, Boca Raton, FL 33432. There is a free lot in front of the restaurant, though it fills quickly on weekends. You will also find metered and free parking on the surrounding streets, and the free garages in Mizner Park next door are an easy option if you are up for a short stroll.
-
Not at all. Sake is close to our heart, and David has built the list from direct relationships with Japanese breweries, but it is only part of the evening. We pour a full bar alongside a cocktail program we’re very proud of, so there is something for every guest, whether you came for the sake or not.
membership
-
MINŌ opened with a small, hand-selected group of founding members who believed in the room early. That founding circle is closed now, but we have since opened an ongoing membership for our most frequent and discerning guests.
It is $250 per month, and the full amount loads to your house account as dining credit. Think of it as a commitment to the room rather than a fee: you place the money with us in advance and spend it whenever you visit, at the counter or in the lounge. Beyond the credit, membership carries a few quiet privileges: preferred seating windows, a direct concierge text line, and invitations to members-only events.
-
No. Membership is not part of dining here. It simply rewards the guests who come back often.
-
Your dining credits never expire. They sit on your house account and are redeemed like cash when you book or settle your bill, across everything at MINŌ: omakase, lounge, sake, and add-ons. Not a discount, not a points system, just your money waiting for your next visit.
-
Yes. A membership can be given and transferred to the recipient. Reach out through minoomakase.com and we will set it up.
-
Your credits are yours. You can transfer them, gift them to someone else, or simply hold on to them for the next time you are in town. Nothing is lost. Reach out and we will help you sort out whatever fits your plans best.
